BIUST – Shaping Future Leaders in Science and Innovation
At the Botswana Vaccine Institute (BVI), nurturing talent and advancing scientific excellence are at the heart of our mission. Through our Graduate Trainee Program, we are committed to developing the next generation of leaders in animal health. This program supports young professionals throughout their learning journey, equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and experience to thrive in a rapidly evolving industry.
Further reinforcing this commitment, BVI proudly partners with the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) to bridge the gap between academic achievement and industry readiness. During the recent BIUST graduation ceremony, BVI honoured two top-performing graduates; Mr. Laone Ronald Pilane (Mechatronics and Industrial Instrumentation) and Ms. Setsile Elisa Kenalemang (Biological Science and Biotechnology) with cash prizes and two-year internships at BVI. This opportunity paves the way for their transition into impactful roles within the pharmaceutical and animal health sectors.
Former interns Mr. Kaone Nkwe and Ms. Lebogang Othusitse applauded the program, highlighting its role in shaping a strong future workforce and fostering excellence in science and technology.
Together, BVI and BIUST are building a foundation for sustainable agricultural development, food security, and scientific innovation in Botswana and beyond.
