Healthier Herds. Safer Milk. Higher Profits : BVI Supports Zimbabwe’s Dairy Sector at the Zimbabwe Association of Dairy Farmers (ZADF) Annual General Meeting
21.07.2025 | Zimbabwe’s dairy industry is a cornerstone of national food security and economic development. At the heart of this sector is the Zimbabwe Association of Dairy Farmers (ZADF), established to advance, protect, and unite milk producers across the country.
The Botswana Vaccine Institute was proud to participate in the ZADF Annual General Meeting, where Chief Executive Officer Andrew Madeswi reaffirmed BVI’s commitment to controlling livestock diseases particularly Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) across the region. He emphasized that combating these diseases is vital to safeguarding food security, protecting farmers’ livelihoods, and strengthening the regional livestock economy for sustainable growth across the continent and beyond.
Dr. Tshenolo Pebe, Veterinary Officer; shared expert insights on sustainable dairy growth through vaccination, highlighting its critical role in maintaining healthy herds, stabilizing farmer incomes, and unlocking access to global markets. Vaccination remains a key driver of productivity, prosperity and progress within the agricultural sector.
